Joel Germain passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2025. He was born on January 31, 1958 to Urban and Pauline (Cloutier) Germain. Growing up on the family farm in Somerset, WI, he was always on the hunt for the next adventure. In his youth he enjoyed fishing, baseball, skiing and boxing.
Joel worked and traveled the country before settling back in WI where he painted homes and businesses as a small business owner. He worked hard and played harder, enjoying many happy hours with family and friends. Joel didn’t like to sit still, always needing to find the next fun thing that was waiting for him. He was an avid gardener and was always growing something. He was passionate about music, playing cards, the Brewers, the Packers, the outdoors and was always trying to help those around him. He had a big heart and the best laugh.
He will be missed by his significant other, Robin Roth and her son, Cecil; children, Josie Germain (Andy Haugen) and Tucker Germain; grandchildren, Kiera and Layla Haugen; ex-wife and mother of his children, Susan Bearhart; brothers, John (Renee) Germain, Dan (Jeanne) Germain, Ted (Jeanne) Germain, Tim (Julie) Germain, Paul (Felicia) Germain and Jeff (Jennifer) Germain; as well as many, many more family and friends. Deepest Sympathy to the Germain’s. We were neighbors growing up and he was the life of the party. If he could help you out-he would. I will always remember that mischievous smile. Be at peace Joel. The entire class of 1976 will carry your memory. .
Joel was a great free spirit and adventurer and was an inspiration for many of us lucky enough to grow up with him. He will be fondly remembered.
