Gerald “Jerry” Brown, age 83, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at River Falls Area Hospital with his wife and his five children by his side.
Born April 8, 1942 in Red Wing, MN, spending most of his youth farming in the River Falls area.
Jerry graduated from River Falls High School in 1960. He met and married the love of his life, Sandra (Sandy) K. Shaide in 1961.
He worked as a baker in River Falls before working the next 20 years as a welder, and a supervisor for Penske Tank.
Jerry worked as a maintenance mechanic for Pearson Candy and also worked construction, including working on building The First Baptist Church. He worked as a welder for Donaldson Company in Baldwin, retiring in 2005 after 20 years.
Jerry helped coach youth baseball, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed cooking, golfing, woodworking, horseback riding and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and his only sibling, Mary Jo Wilcoxson. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandy (Shaide) Brown, Daughter Dawn (Guy) Wayne, Son Jay Brown, Daughter Kelly Arbogast, Daughter Traci (Del) Roschen, and Son Troy (Tracy) Brown. Jerry is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Jake, Spencer, Justin, Brittany, Jesse, Connor, Brandon, Mason and Maverick. He is also survived by great grandchildren, Wesley, Amelia, Calvin, Mitchell & Rhodes.
Visitation was held Friday, June 13 from 5:00-8:00 at the First Baptist Church, River Falls. Funeral services was held Saturday, June 14 at 1:00 at the First Baptist Church, River Falls.
Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
