Jeff “Tate” Berends

Jeff “Tate” Berends, age 50, of Green Bay, WI, and formerly of New Richmond, WI, was born on February 11, 1971, in New Richmond to Francis “Slim” and Evelyn “Evie” (Swanson) Berends. Jeff passed away suddenly on May 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. He is survived by his loving mother, Evie, brothers Greg (Laura), Brad (Leann), and Mike (Mary), as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

He graduated from New Richmond High School and went on to attend UW-Stout. He was a loyal employee at Team Industries, Inc., in Kaukauna, WI, for many years, after moving to Green Bay in 2001.

He was a lover of all sports, especially the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers, and more recently, the minor league Wisconsin Timber Rattlers baseball team in Appleton. He was a wonderful friend to so many, a loving son, brother, and uncle, and a “gentle giant” to all who crossed his path.

Mass of Christian Burial 11AM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond. Visitation for one hour prior to Mass at the church. Luncheon to follow funeral services at Ready Randy’s in New Richmond. In lieu of flowers, please donate memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
