Jean Gillen

Jean Claire Gillen (nee White) born January 16, 1937 (Age 85), lifelong Stillwater Resident, passed away January 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Helen Claire White; brothers, Patrick, Richard, and Charles.

Survived by the love of her life, Theodore Gillen; sister, Dorothy Scullen; children, Ann Gillen, Helen (Allyn) Hamble, Mary (Joseph) Buckley, Carol (Robert) Greethurst, Thomas (Monique) Gillen, and Timothy (Heather) Gillen; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, special cousin Kathy, and several nieces and nephews.

Jean not only spent her time as a homemaker, but was an avid traveler, bowler, and camper who loved to crochet and was a prolific jigsaw puzzle solver. Above all, she was a kind soul who loved spending time with her family, be it in her home or motorhome. All were welcomed with loving arms. One of the things she enjoyed most was the simple, affectionate joy of rocking her babies, grand-babies, and great-grand-babies.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family or donor’s choice. Services will be held Friday January 28, 2022, at St. Michael’s Church in Stillwater. Visitation: 10am, Funeral Mass: 11am, burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
