James A. Peterson Sr.
James “Jim” Allen Peterson Sr. passed away unexpectedly at his home in New Richmond on Aug. 20, 2011. Jim was born on Aug. 4, 1941, in Roberts, Wis. Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Julie Douglass, James “Jimmy” Jr. (Paige) Peterson, Jeremy (Julie) Peterson, and Jackie Peterson; stepchildren, Michael “Mike” (Tami) Hegge, Brian Hegge, Dale Jr. (Amy) Hegge and Raelene (David) Marquez; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by sister Sandra “Sandy” (Tom) Gaustad of Woodville, Wis.; brother Bill Peterson (Colleen) of Hammond, Wis.; sister Nancy Peterson of Clear Lake, Wis.; brother-in-law, Ken Lashley of Beldenville, Wis.; sister-in-law, Charlotte Peterson of Hastings, Minn.; also many nieces and nephews. Jim was a self-employed siding applicator for many years. He enjoyed his family, friends, and many dogs. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. His laughter, jokes, and compassion will be remembered by all. He will be missed greatly. Jim was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Esther Peterson; brother Joseph “Joe” Peterson; sister Peggy Lashley; and nephew Christopher Peterson. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in Hammond. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the CullenCrea Funeral Home New Richmond, Wis., and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
