Gloria Linder 07/30/2024

Gloria Joy Linder passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024 in New Richmond WI.  She was born on March 22, 1929 in St.Paul, MN to parents Jack & Elsie Fernlund, and brother Robert.  She grew up in St.Paul, and graduated from Harding High School’s Class of 1947.  Like so many at that time, she worked at 3M until she married Harold R.Jones in 1951.  They had 3 children surviving her today: Christine (husband Rick), son Robert, and Patrice (husband Steve).

Gloria was known far & wide for her loving gift of hospitality, and always eager to lend a helping hand & a prayer.  She had a notably great sense of humor! She loved Jesus, and was always serving her church, and her family.

She is survived by her 3 children, her bonus daughter, Cindy, 4 grandchildren, Joshua (wife Kristi & 3 daughters; Olivia, Emmy, and Ruby), Kelsey, Meghan, and Michael (and their spouses), as well as 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her granddaughter Melissa (her husband Layne lives in Las Vegas), and her husband Marvin Linder (Marvin’s 4 children & families reside near New Richmond). Many of her extended family passed on before her so there is a large upcoming Heavenly family Reunion!

A celebration of Gloria’s life was held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) New Richmond.  Visitation was also Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I worked with and adored Gloria during my employment at Our House Senior Living in New Richmond. She was always full of humor, sass, and fun. She loved games, chatting, and sharing stories with us. I still feel a strong connection with Gloria, even though I haven’t seen her in person in years. The world is better for having had Gloria in it. Condolences to her family and other friends.
