Gary Linder, age 66, died on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Saint Croix Health Center in New Richmond. He was born the son of Marvin and Luella Linder on April 1, 1958 in New Richmond. Gary attended New Richmond High School and joined the Army National Guard while in school. He worked at Doboy and Saint Croix Industries. Gary retired from Philips Plastics after 10 years there. Gary also worked a side job cleaning homes with Clyde Moe. He married Rita Mercer in January 1983. Gary loved hanging out with grandchildren, riding bike, watching grandson Chase race, going to Sally’s for coffee, and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was always up for a good time at the casino and loved helping people. He was the first person to lend a hand.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Luella; brother, Jody; and grandson, Nathaniel. He is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Becky (Shane) Viebrock, Chris (Cathy) Pennington, Michael Linder; grandchildren, Haley Viebrock, Chase (Kayla) Viebrock, Noah Viebrock, Taylor (Hunter) Lively, Erin (Will) Moles, Payton Woodfell, Fiona Linder; great-grandchild, Mathew Moles; siblings, Sally (Jerry) Viellieux, Connie Linder, Roger Linder; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday March 9, 2025 from 12-3PM at The Post Bar and Grill (1098 County Road C New Richmond WI 54017). Please wear Packers attire in remembrance of Gary. People in Vikings gear will not be let in. Go Pack Go!
The private family interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in East Farmington. Cremations services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
