Dorothy Hage 07/02/2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Ann Hage, who left us on July 2, 2025, at the age of 90. Born January 26, 1935, in Clayton, Wisconsin, Dorothy led a life filled with warmth, love, and devotion, primarily as a cherished homemaker. She touched many lives with her kindness and support, leaving behind countless memories that we will hold dear.

Dorothy was a graduate from Menomonie High School in 1953.  After graduation she moved to Minneapolis and worked at Northwest Bell Telephone Company. On March 1st, 1956, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard Hage.  Together they raised their three children.  They moved the family to Afton Township, MN in 1966 and then to a 40-acre hobby farm in Hammond, WI in 1979.  She was involved in a variety of organizations including Sons of Norway of Woodville, homemakers club, 4H group leader, various church groups, and even co-cub scout Den Mother.

Throughout her life, she exemplified the values of family and community, making her home a welcoming haven.  Dorothy enjoyed baking for her family; especially holiday treats, canning vegetables from the garden and making preserves.  She really liked sewing clothes for herself and daughter.  She also began oil painting in her 70’s and became very talented at it.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Richard Hage, Dewayne Hage and Debbie (John) Parsons; grandson, Mark (Kate) Parsons; great grandson, Theodore; siblings, Jan Larson, Betty (Jerry) McCurdy and Don (Cheryl) Zahurones; brother-in-law, Art (Ann) Hage; and sister-in-law, Sandra Zahurones; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by, her husband, Richard Hage; parents, George and Lena Zahurones; and brother, Lester Zahurones.

A Funeral Service was held Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond (1250 Broadway St) on Wednesday July 9, 2025.  A visitation was held at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Interment was at Sunset Cemetery in Woodville, Wisconsin.

As we say our goodbyes, we are grateful for the time we had with Dorothy and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, yet her spirit will live on in the cherished memories we hold.

Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
