July 31, 1950 – January 17, 2026

Hudson, Wisconsin

David (Dave) Lawrence Schroeder, born July 31, 1950, and passed away peacefully in the Mayo Red Wing Hospital on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Dave was born to Lawrence and Dorothy Schroeder in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up on the east side of St. Paul, later moved to North St. Paul where he graduated from North St. Paul, 16th in a class of 678 kids. Dave lettered in football, baseball, and hockey.

Dave went on to the University of Minnesota, where he graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering degree. Dave was commissioned in the Air Force as a missile launch control officer and released from service in May of 1976 with a rank of First Lieutenant.

Dave met his wife Kathy at the University of Minnesota in a snowball fight. He cherished and loved Kathy dearly all his life. They were united in marriage on August 21, 1982 at United Church of Christ in St. Paul. They had one child, John whom he adored. John and Kathy were the love of his life and his family was very important to him.

His father, Lawrence asked Dave if he would consider becoming an apple technician. He went on to become one of four dealers in the Twin City area, known as the Apple Specialist marketing co-op. Later, with his son John, and friends Ron and Tim, Dave operated the Woodbury Team Technology Store until 2023. Dave and John then transitioned Team Technology to become a mobile business in 2023 providing computer services locally in homes and in business’s throughout  Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Dave always felt a part of his ministry, was to share his computer skills and to help as many people as he could.  He was a man of faith and had a personal relationship with Christ. Dave applied his faith into action daily by practicing the three precepts of Methodism. The three precepts of Methodism were close to Dave’s heart are:  to do good, do no harm, and stay in love with God. He volunteered at Hudson United Methodist Church as a Sunday PowerPoint/sound operator and every Wednesday picking up food for the weekly food giveaway.

Dave adored his summers at Sperr’s Point in Hackensack, MN. Every year he would look forward to fishing, and visiting with people at the lake, sitting in his rocking chair on the deck, and having an ice cream cone every day. Ironically, Kathy’s family went to Sperr’s Point when Kathy was in middle school and one of Dave’s customers at this time was the owner of Sperr’s Point, Kenny Sperr. Dave would deliver radio/tv electronic parts to Kenny Sperr. Thus developed a lifelong relationship with the Sperr family.

Dave is survived by his wife, Kathy and his son John, sister-in-law Bonnie, brother in-law Buck with many adoring nieces and nephews, cousins and his sister’s Debbie and Linda.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Dorothy, and his sister, Joanne.

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, there will be a visitation and celebration of life at Hudson United Methodist Church (1401 Laurel Ave.) in Hudson, WI.  Visitation will begin at 10 am followed by the service at 11 am.
