Darlene Margaret Crotty, 81, of Somerset, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away on February 18, 2024, at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota. She was born on February 19, 1942, to Raymond and Julia (Belisle) Jansen.
On August 26, 1961, Darlene married the love of her life, Leo Crotty, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Somerset, WI. Together, they embraced life’s adventures, raising six children and sharing a deep love for polka dancing, cruising around in their 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire, camping, fishing, and gardening. Their 52 years of marriage were a testament to their unwavering devotion and cherished moments spent with their Children and Grandchildren.
Darlene’s passion for life extended beyond her family. She had a heart as warm as her hugs and was known for her skill in knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She found immense joy in summers at the cabin, reminiscing and sharing stories around the campfire, spending time with her dog Kandi, fishing, and enjoying lunches with friends. However, her greatest happiness came from gathering her children for Sunday lunches and getting together with her 8 siblings to do puzzles & potlucks not for any reason other than just to be together, creating cherished memories that will live on forever.
Darlene is survived by her children: Scott (Roxann) Crotty, Julie (John) Martell, Mark (Penny) Crotty, Amy McCune (Dan Johnson), Jay Crotty (Allison Taylor), and Barry (Tara) Crotty; her adoring grandchildren: Danielle, Samuel, Micah, Jordan, Joshua, Brittany, Kirsty, Megan, Emily, Jeremy, Lance, Zachariah, Jolise, Jaylin, Kinley, Allyiah, Kaia, and Kira; and her great-grandchildren: Lydia, Kora, Adriel, Arewyn, Hunter, Elliana, Channing, Cameron, Eden, Logan and Amelia, Logan, Kevin, and Harlow. She is also survived by her siblings: Leo (Joan) Jansen, Glen (Marie) Jansen, Linda (Jim) Lanser, Earl (Debbie) Jansen, Bernell (Kathy) Jansen, Ruth (Lyle) Halverson, Leroy (Jodi) Jansen, and Lori (Jim) Webster.
