I have many great memories of “Boone” over the more than 50 years that I was fortunate to have known him.
He was a sweetheart of a guy and truly a good person. He is sorely missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ADIOS dear friend.
Eunice, You and your family are in my prayers. I am so sorry for your loss.
I worked for Dan at Filkins Bros Citgo many years ago. Dan was a great boss and we shared a lot of laughs together. I would call him Texaco Chief or Boon and he referred to me as the Ridge Runner from Maiden Rock. I fondly recall sitting down with Dan, Jim, Mike, Stubby, Emo, Lightning and Headly for a cold Blatz beer after work, rolling the dice for soda pop, and heckling Dan at Bud’s Lanes on bowling night. Dan was the best ! My sympathy to Eunice and family on your loss.

To the Filkins family,
I am so sad that Dan has passed on. I have known Dan since 2nd grade when I started school in the River Falls public schools. Dan and I attended the First Congregational Church together with a few of our other classmates.
I remember that Dan and had a little game that we played with the hymnals during church services trying to match page numbers. He was a very special person and I will miss him dearly. You all are in my prayers.
Uncle Jim I am so sorry for your family’s loss . Hugs and prayers!
Eunice: Sorry to read of Dan’s passing. Keeping you and yours in our thoughts and prayers.
Sorry to hear about Dan. Will keep you in our prayers
The whole Filkins family and Carisch family were neighbors and friends early in life through high school. I left one of the best cities in the mid-west to leave for college, but I always stayed in touch and called and visited Dan and Eunice whenever I was back in town. Dan and I enjoyed “kick the can”, fishing, playing hide and seek in the lumber yard next to the station and putting penny’s on the tracks behind their station. We were like Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer. Rascals at time but good kids with great parents. Dan had a smile for everyone with his cute little laugh (just like Sybil’s). He chose a wonderful wife and had two daughter with 4 grandchildren. You were such a hard worker but took time to golf, fish, and hunt with the best of your friends. We miss you Dan, as do all of your friends.
I was so sad to learn of Dan’s passing. He was always one of the cool kids at RFHS — a neat and caring guy. Rest well, my friend.
Dan was the brother of my HS classmate, Jim. My sincere sympathy to the whole family.
Eunice and family, this is difficult to believe. Dan was a terrific friend since kindergarten.(71 years). He was the best in every way!
Our sincere sympathy to Eunice and family at Dan’s passing. Dan was a lifelong friend of Bruce’s. He and Eunice lived across the street form Bruce’s parents for many years on Fourth Street in River Falls. With Doris Fuka just a few doors down that was taking on a lot for a fellow Class of ’62 member to keep an eye on Doris AND Bea & Larry. Dan was one of the best and Eunice always stood bravely at his side. We remember fondly all the time spent hanging out with the guys at the Texaco. Our prayers and comfort to his family at this hard time.
God bless you and your family, Eunice. So sorry to hear that Dan walked on. I have many fond memories of your cheerfulness at UWRF and I imagine that was part of the happiness you shared with your husband. Comfort and peace to you, Linda
