Dain Wahl 10/30/2024

Dain Xia Yu Wahl, age 11, son of Greg and Dawn, brother to Emily and Luke passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 30, 2024. He was born in China on April 27, 2013. Dain was adopted by Greg and Dawn Wahl when he turned four years old. Dain grew up in New Richmond and was homeschooled.
Dain enjoyed being out and about, but also staying home. He loved playing videogames, especially Fortnite with his siblings, Ghostbusters with his mom, and Perfect Dark with his dad. He also played Roblox on his tablet and watched funny videos. Dain loved his Superhero figurines, Paw Patrol, and Ghostbuster Guys. He enjoyed going to the movies and being with family. Dain loved shore fishing and driving his car outside. He had an infectious smile and was always having fun telling jokes. His joy made life beautiful.
Dawn and Dain did everything together. Dain was mom’s little shadow.
Dain is preceded in death by his grandfather, Adiel; uncle, Murray Swanby; and cousin, Eric Swanby. He is survived by his parents, Dawn and Greg; sister, Emily (Marvin) Lerol; brother, Luke; grandmothers, Sharon Holtz and Olivette; uncles, Scott (Cheryl), Jeff, Michael (Leslie) Swanby, Mark Swanby, Robin Holtz; aunts, Patrice (Lance) Christenson, Lisa (Mark) Beaubien, Stephanie (Rich) Holdorf.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:00AM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, WI 54017). A Visitation was held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 4:00-8:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services and one hour prior to the service. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Star Prairie. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
