Constance Ann Vedra of Somerset, WI, passed away February 24, 2026.

Connie was born on August 13, 1937, to Carl and Eleanor Faerber in Chicago. She was raised with three brothers, John, Tom and Dave and spent much of her youth in Glenview, IL. In 1969 she moved to Somerset, where she married Dave Vedra.

For 32 years, Connie was the secretary at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Somerset. In this role she assisted the priests of the parish, created bulletins for church services and managed the church cemetery.

Her family lovingly remembers Connie for her pride in both her sons and her house in Somerset, built by her husband. She took delight in finding just the right wallpaper, paint color and décor for her home, and she had a centerpiece and candles to suit every occasion. Her family also fondly recalls opening Christmas gifts and seeing Connie survey the gifts and then disappear to retrieve missing presents she had stashed in a closet or the attic.

She is survived by sons, Daniel Schmitt (Kelli) of McVille, ND, Michael Schmitt (Kay) of Eagan, MN and Robert Vedra (Amy) of Herchies, Belgium. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Katie (Kenneth), Lauren (Quinn), Eric (Alexandra), Grace (Nicholas), Sara and Lucy; one great granddaughter, Elliana; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

We are grateful Connie has been reunited with family who preceded her in death: her beloved husband, Dave; treasured son, David, her parents and her brothers.

Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11:00AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church (141 Church Hill Rd) Somerset, Wisconsin with visitation being at 10:00AM.  Interment will be in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery immediately following mass.
