Colin Gagnon 11/08/2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Colin Ray Gagnon, age 23, of Euless, TX, formerly of New Richmond, WI, who left us too soon by suicide on November 8, 2025. Colin was born on November 11, 2001, he was a bright light in the lives of many, known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unyielding loyalty to those he loved.

Colin grew up in New Richmond, where he attended grade school, then moved onto graduate from St. Croix Central online. His best friend since first grade, Camden, recalls their dreams of moving to Texas together, standing by each other’s sides in their wedding ceremonies and raising their children as neighbors, a testament to the depth of their bond.

Known for his unique blend of intelligence and creativity, Colin excelled in computer gaming where he had a large network of close-knit friends on his different platforms.  He was also a devoted Halo fan and extremely talented in painting Warhammer figures and strategizing with Magic the Gathering cards.  He had an old soul with a gentle demeanor, and anyone fortunate enough to know him could attest to his kindness and friendliness.

Colin was incredibly proud of his recent achievement in becoming a certified 911 dispatcher, a role that perfectly aligned with his desire to help others in their times of need. His move to Texas marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one filled with ambition and the hope of making a difference.  Though his time as a dispatcher was short, his impact on the community he served will last a lifetime.

Colin is survived by his mother; Jennifer Norlund, father; Tony Gagnon, aunt; Andria Norlund, cousins; Caden & Jaxon Koch, uncle; Brad Gagnon, grandmothers, Kathy Gagnon and Linda Norlund. Colin will also be deeply missed by his lifelong best friend Camden Byrd along with a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.  Colin was welcomed into heaven by his grandmother, Wray Peterson and grandfather, Fred Norlund.

In memory of Colin, a memorial service was held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 728 S Knowles Ave in New Richmond, WI. A brief service began at 6:00 pm. We invite all who knew and loved Colin to join us in celebrating his life, honoring the joy he brought to our lives and the impact he made in this world.

Rest in peace, dear Colin. You will forever be in our hearts.

I didn’t know this young man but my heart hurts for his family and friends. My family has lost three wonderful young men about his age to suicide in the last few years and it’s heartbreaking! His family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers.
