Charlotte May Webster, age 92 of Somerset, WI, died on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Charlotte was born the daughter of Raymond and Eldah (Correll) Nelson on September 3,1927 on the family farm near Sheldon, WI. On her 20th birthday, Charlotte married William L. Webster and started her family which grew to include five children. In 1965, the family moved to an old farm house in Somerset, Wisconsin where Charlotte lived for 50 years. Charlotte loved people, collecting friends wherever she went. She was honored to be called, “Grandma Char” at the First Baptist Church in New Richmond where she was an active member for many years. After her husband’s death, she joined the local widow’s group, played the kazoo in the Senior Center’s “Kitchen Band”, volunteered in the kitchen at Grace Place and helped to make “Love Baskets”. In 2014, she moved into the Countryside Apartments where she quickly became part of the community and rarely missed an event. When she wasn’t out and about, her days were spent having coffee with neighbors, spending hours at the puzzle board, and speeding through Word Search books during her down time. She was so very proud that she was able to live independently with the weekly help of her granddaughter, Laura. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Eldah Nelson; husband, William L. Webster; son, William R. Webster; grandson, Kory Klein; great-grandson, Jacob Webster; brother, Raymond Nelson; and sister, Elaine (Leland) Mortimer. I will miss Charlotte’s smile! Every time I saw her, she was smiling! Always a kind word for everyone. Was so good to our family (JIM AND DORIS BATTENBERG) keep smiling Charlotte and rest in peace. Give mom a dad a kiss for me!
Grandma Char was a great gift given to me by her grandson Bruno this year. She had great stories and a contagious smile. I will cherish every minute I spent with this wonderful strong and gracious woman.
I don’t have any memory’s but I do know she will be loved
The memorials that were received have been donated to Grace Place, a charitable organization that provides food and shelter for people in need. I think mother would have approved.
