Betty L. (Casey) Mitchell, age 93, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2016 at the Westfields Hospital in New Richmond. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Mitchell. Survived by her children, Gary (Barb) of Prescott, Terry (Bev) of New Richmond, Maureen (John) Brunner of New Richmond, Jim (Doris) of Amery, Eileen (Mike) Young of Adams, MN, Kathy Johnson of Baldwin, Steve (Susan) of Hudson, Mark (Ann) of Somerset, Dennis (Jackie) of New Richmond; 33 grandchildren; and 64 great grandchildren. Betty was born March 28, 1923 to Ronald and Eulalia Casey. She graduated from New Richmond High School in 1940 then went to River Falls College and St. Joseph School of Nursing in St Paul becoming a registered nurse. Betty married Ray Mitchell on August 28, 1945. They farmed in Erin Prairie for over 50 years while raising a large family of 9 children. Betty worked as a home health nurse in St. Croix County for 25 years.

She loved baking, gardening, traveling and was very active in St. Patrick’s Church. She most enjoyed spending time with her large family and being very involved with family activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday June 27, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Erin Prairie, Wisconsin 1880 County Road G New Richmond, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held on Sunday June 26, 2016 from 4-8 PM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and for an hour prior to Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Grace Place and St. Mary’s Catholic School in New Richmond.
