Barbara Knudsen Age 82 of Minneapolis/Apple Valley, Minnesota passed away peacefully on July 21, 2014, Barbara is survived by her husband, Edwin C. Knudsen; children, Candace (Herb) Pellinen, Craig (Nia) Knudsen, Kevin Knudsen, and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by her by parents, Hans and Erna Wick and brother Howard Wick. Funeral Services to be held this Friday July 25th, at HOPE CHURCH in Apple Valley at 4:00 PM 7477 145th Street West, Apple Valley, MN 55124. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. Barbara was a pioneer in residential real estate and one of the first women in the Twin Cities to own and operate her own brokerage company, during the the early 1970’s. In 1989 she sold her brokerage company to TCF Bank Systems, which was later sold to Burnet Realty. Barbara’s passion for real estate was to hire men and woman dedicated to maintain a high level of professionalism. She developed a unique field training program that helped new agents bridge classroom learning and real life experience. She had a commitment to and financially supported high school athletics and was involved in the growth of small businesses throughout the Southwest Twin Cities. Barbara was a voracious reader, loved to play the piano, golf, and travel with her husband Ed. She had a deep Christian faith and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She’ll be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
