Barbara Harer

Barbara Harer

Barbara Jean (Davis) Harer of New Richmond, Wisconsin, was called home by her heavenly Father on August 5, 2023, at the age of 82.

Barb was born on March 18, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Albert and Viola Davis. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1959 and soon after met her future husband, Tom, while he was stationed in Oxford, OH serving in the Army. They were married on September 2, 1961. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Tom Jr., Colleen, and Lawrence.

After Tom’s service, they moved to Wisconsin and then to Waconia, MN to begin their young married life and raise their family. Barb enjoyed family camping and fishing trips, she became very talented in learning how to garden, can vegetables, jams and fruits, and cook hearty midwestern meals. She balanced her family life with her career progression as a Receptionist, Office Manager and lastly a Controller for a technology firm.

While raising a family and working full time, Barb pursued her dream of going to college to obtain her degree. In 1989 she graduated from Augsburg College with her degree in accounting. Barb was successful in her career, but she truly shined in her familial roles and was always happiest surrounded by the ones she loved. She celebrated and embraced the marriages of her children and loved being a grandmother to her 9 grandchildren.

After retirement, she and her husband Tom built their country home nestled in the rolling hills of Star Prairie WI. During winter months Barb and Tom spent time with family in Florida and with friends in Dauphin Island, AL. Barb will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, kindness to others, her sense of humor, her strong faith, and the love she gave unconditionally.

Barb is greeted in heaven by her parents, Albert and Viola Davis; brother, Kenny Davis; sister, Janet (Max) Wear; brother in law, Axel Johnson; mother and father in law, Lawrence and Mary Harer; brother in law, Lawrence Harer, Jr.; sister in law, Marilyn (Harer) Eisele; daughter in law, Amy (Polikoff) Harer.
