Audrey Cernohous

Audrey Cernohous

Audrey Marie Cernohous, age 78, New Richmond, Wis., died peacefully on December 6th surrounded by her loving family. She was raised in Plum City, Wisconsin, attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and married Ken Cernohous on Aug. 23, 1958.

Audrey’s love for music shined throughout her life. As a young girl, she participated in many musical events and was honored to be selected as a sopranist for the 1956 National Gala Festival concert in St. Louis. While her love for music touched many through years of teaching piano, directing various choral groups and serving many roles at church, her greatest passion was directing the Immaculate Conception Church choir. Her faith family provided many years of joy.

Audrey enjoyed quilting, bridge clubs, volunteering, reading, gardening, and being a number one hockey fan to her beloved grandsons. She will be remembered as a teacher, mentor and inspiration of kindness. Her love for life will continue through all who loved the strong minded, fun loving Irish woman she was.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ken Cernohous; her parents, Ruth & Emery Kane; siblings, Sheldon, Lucile, Leona and Georgia Kane. She is survived by her loving children, Pat and Julie Ann; grandsons, Jack and Craig Cernohous; sister, Dorothy Hossain; and brothers in law, Chuck (Lorraine), Paul (Carol) and Mike (Alice); and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 10, at Immaculate Conception Church, with Mass of Christian Burial, presided by Father John Anderson, at 11:00 am.
