Arthur Sachse 09/10/2025

Arthur Philip Sachse (A.P.), of New Richmond, WI passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Westfield Hospital in New Richmond, WI. He was surrounded by family members to keep him company and celebrate his 94th birthday. After songs, greetings from friends and cake, he closed his eyes and peacefully departed on the great journey.

A.P. was born in Milwaukee, WI on Sept 10, 1931. He was the eldest of 5 children from Arthur William Sachse (A.W.) and Myrtle Sachse (Warnke). Siblings include Ronald Sachse, Carol Wertz, Karl Sachse and Robert Sachse.

A.P. had a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. During school he was active in the Theta Chi fraternity and lived in the house. He had great memories of his time in Madison, made many friends and remained a big fan of Badger football.

Art started dating his wife, Jean Carol Sachse (Thierfelder) (deceased September 2, 2003) when they were 14. After eight years and upon his graduation from university, they married on October 24, 1953 in West Granville Presbyterian Church. A.P. and Jean had always planned to have a large family and did just that. Over 17 years they had six children, Sharon, Gary, Janet, Laura, Brian and Christopher. From there the family grew. A.P. was very proud to have 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Arthur initially put his degree to use on the family farm in Cedarburg, WI. A few years down the road he took a position with Libby’s in Hartford, WI. In 1972 he then moved his family north to New Richmond, WI. There he took a position with Friday’s Canning (now Lakeside Foods), where he managed the raw product operations through the rest of his career. He also served in the leadership of state food processing associations, sharing his knowledge and expertise.

Arthur and Jean wintered in Destin, Florida. There they met many snowbirds and participated in events and get-togethers with the group. After Jean’s passing in 2003, Art continued the tradition, heading south every winter. It was there that he met Joyce Kryder, from Rockford, IL. They lived together in New Richmond and Destin, traveled, and shared each other’s life until Joyce’s passing December 25, 2020.

A.P. had strong faith in God and was active in his church. In early years he participated in the Presbyterian Church in West Granville, WI with his family and since moving to New Richmond he was active in the United Methodist Church. He devoted his life to his family and was always ready to help his wife, children and grandchildren with anything they needed. He was an amazing role model, a devoted husband and a great father. His surviving children and grandchildren cherish all of the good time spent with him and will carry him along in their lives.

Arthur’s Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM central time at Mitchell’s Cocktail Company located at 156 High Street, New Richmond, WI 54017.

Cremation provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

When Jean passed Art gave money to United Methodist Church to purchase a defibrillator machine. He also paid for my training (employed by United Methodist Church/ taught by Chuck Mehls) I will always be grateful for his contribution to my health education. May he rest in the Lord’s peace.
