Anthony Mara 04/30/2024

Anthony John “TJ” Mara, age 31, passed away suddenly of a medical emergency in the arms of his loving fiancé, Chandra, at Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin, Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Anthony had a passion for life and lived it to the extreme.  He enjoyed white water rafting, kayaking and hi-adventure camping….especially in the dead of winter. He enjoyed hunting; loved to fish and achieved his three goals to catch a ¾ pound+ bluegill, a stringer full of 5 pound+ bass and a northern pike over 10 pounds.  However, he was robbed of catching a trophy crappie by losing it at the hole only for it to be caught immediately by his best friend, Brian.

One of his greatest passions was football, especially his beloved Green Bay Packers.  He cherished music and would frequent concerts as often as he could.  His favorite hobby was anything Star Wars; especially his hi-end Lego collections.

Anthony held many jobs in his short life but found his true calling as a self-taught chef for Cheap Andy’s in Hammond, Wisconsin.  There Anthony discovered he had a creative niche for developing new and tasty menu ideas or daily specials.

TJ is survived by his fiancé, Chandra Chapin; parents, Tom and Gen Mara; brother, Josh (Connie) Mara; grandmother, Iris Mara; future in laws, Jeff and Doreen Chapin; future brother-in-law, Jake Chapin; nieces, Abigal Mara and Liz Beverly; and nephew, Ryker Mara.  He will be greatly missed by all those who came to know him, but not as much as his group of brothers! He showed his love for life in everything he did.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Kyle Mara; grandparents, Pat Mara and Charles & Helen Reitz.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 11:00AM-5:00PM at Cheap Andy’s (820 Davis Street) Hammond, Wisconsin.   Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
