Allen “Al” Neumann 03/07/2025

As the sun rose on March 7, 2025, Allen John Neumann ascended in faith to the Holy Father. He was surrounded by love and had his Guardian Angel, Cathy, by his side. On April 30, 1933, Paul and Emma Neumann welcomed Allen John and later sister Barbara into their loving family. Al was very proud of growing up in Wanderoos, WI and spoke of his experiences often. The family moved to New Richmond where Al’s devotion to his faith, which began at home, was forged at St. Mary’s. And the Lord knows Al tested all the boundaries, with his faith keeping him safe.

A graduate of New Richmond High School (1951) it was anchors away and the Navy (1952-56) for Al; the call to service would be lifelong. The high seas would eventually bring Al back to Wisconsin to attend Whitewater State College where Al earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Al also served as the President of the Whitewater State College Young Democrats which led him to be the Chairman of the Kennedy for President headquarters in Whitewater. Al’s politics like his faith was a lifelong devotion. Montgomery Ward was the next phase of Al’s career followed by time at St. Croix Press and finishing his working days with Family Fresh.

As a long-time member of the Butler-Harmon American Legion Post 80 and humbled by the honor as a member of the Forty & Eight, Al’s devotion to service continued in ways that honored his faith, patriotism, community and fellow man. Al participated in the Veterans Oral History Project his story can be heard at the Friday Memorial Library.

Along the road it was often said that Al had been touched by an angel as his hair was striking silver – white, which earned him the name, “The Silver Fox.” Graced with sparkling eyes, quick wit, and laughter to share, Al could make a friend with a wink and a smile. He cherished his friends as blessings…and the Green Bay Packers. He always lived his life with faith and devotion.

Al is survived by his beloved sister, Barb (Neumann) Ford; and nephew, Rick Ford of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Thank you to the Staff of the St. Croix County Health Center, Orchid View Terrace and Lake View Hospice who provided outstanding, compassionate care and comfort throughout this journey. We are thankful and blessed to have such resources.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday March 15, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond, WI. Visitation for one hour prior to Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
