Alie Thanig After a 5-1/2-year battle with leukemia, Alie passed away suddenly on Aug. 18, 2011. Alie will always be remembered for her big blue eyes and amazing smile. Her strength and courage inspired many to try harder, complain less, and be a better person. She had a huge heart and cared deeply for her friends and family. Her silliness and sense of humor made all of us smile and laugh every time she was near. Alie enjoyed reading, drawing, camping, and playing with her big sister and cousins. Her passing has left us with a huge void and heavy hearts that we pray may be lessened with time. Alie was preceded in death by her PaPa, Charles “Chuck” Monner; greatgrandpa Joseph Thanig; great-grandpa Gerald Rogahn; great-grandpa Thomas Monner; and great-grandpa Theodore Wall. She is survived by her loving parents, Jeffrey and Sarah (Monner); big sister Kayli; grandparents, Sonja Monner and Dennis and Renee Thanig; great grandmothers, Gertrude Thanig, June Rogahn, Eunice Monner, and Edna Wall; uncles and aunts, Pete and Kate (Monner) Waskul, James and Lisa (Zdrazil) Thanig, and Scott Thanig; cousins, Ethan, Thomas, and Charles Waskul and Samuel and Henry Thanig; godmother, Shelly Connor; and many other extended family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Somerset. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at the CullenCrea Funeral Home, New Richmond, Wis., and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred
