Sharleen Fay McGee, age 82, passed away peacefully on 6 November 2026 at her home in River Falls, Wisconsin, surrounded by the love of her family.

Sharleen was born on 8 October 1944 at her family’s home in Rock Elm, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Fay (Hanvelt) Robelia, and was of German and Dutch ancestry, with a bit of Irish mixed in.

Clarence Robelia was the paternal grandson of Richard Rauenbuehler, born 12 February 1826, and Regina Keller, born 2 September 1825, who emigrated from the Kingdom of Bavaria (now Germany) to New York City in 1852.

Fay was the paternal great-granddaughter of Hermanus Hengeveld, born 21 March 1838 in Lichtenvoorde, Netherlands, and Anna Loomis, also born in 1838 in the Netherlands. Hermanus, at age 8, immigrated to America with his parents Jan and Alida (Keusink) Hengeveld.

Sharleen was married on 27 April 1963, in Rock Elm, to Lyle Arnold McGee, who preceded her in death on 20 August 2016. The couple would divorce, but leave six children to mourn their loss: William (Diane Pulju), Charles (Vanda Fenner), Michael (partner Gail), Sherri (Jody Sather), Connie (Dean Elbe), and Angela (Denario Davis).

Our mother is lovingly remembered as a hard-working, exceedingly independent woman. She was selfless and kind in every way, always putting us–her children–far above her personal interests. The pride and love she had, and surely still has in heaven, for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. The love they showed her is proof of it.

We will miss her with every ounce of our being.

Private services to be held at Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls, Wisconsin.

Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
