Eugene “Gene” Webster 08/30/2026

Eugene Dale Webster was born on Thursday, April 25, 1940, to Lillian Christine Bristol and Frank Leo Webster. He arrived in the world on the family farm in Heartland Township, just outside Ellsworth, Wisconsin, the youngest of four brothers and a blessing to his parents and siblings. When Eugene was two, the family moved to their long-term home, a farm off Highway 63, just a short walk from their beloved church, St. Paul Evangelical and Reform Church—now St. Paul Church of Christ.

He attended the Lantz country school before moving on to Ellsworth High School. At age 15, he spent an entire summer working alongside his cousin, putting up corn bins across Wisconsin and surrounding states—a testament to his determination and strong work ethic even as a young man. Throughout high school, he embraced life fully, participating in football, baseball, basketball, and tennis, and serving as class vice president. He graduated in 1958 and went on to enlist in the Army Air Force, where he learned engineering. Afterward, he attended the University of Wisconsin–River Falls for a year and then began a 45-year career at Sperry, now Lockheed Martin, retiring at age 65.

During his first year at Sperry, Eugene met the love of his life, Mary Lynn Kelly, at a dance hall in Ellsworth—a moment that changed both of their lives forever. During their two-year courtship, they spent countless hours dancing, laughing, and growing together. On July 8, 1967, Eugene and Mary were married at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. Their reception was lovingly hosted at the home of Esther V. Kelly, Mary’s childhood home. They welcomed three children—Sara Beth, Mark Dale, and Jean Marie—and filled their home with warmth, joy, and endless love. The devotion and tenderness Eugene and Mary shared will continue to shine for eternity.

Anyone who met Eugene was drawn to him instantly. He was kind, generous, and thoughtful beyond measure. He cared deeply and sincerely for others, always offering a steady presence, a helping hand, a listening ear, and a gentle heart.

Eugene is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Lynn (Kelly) Webster, with whom he shared 59 ½ beautiful years; his children Sara Beth Kuehn, Mark Dale and Debbie (Bennett) Webster, and Jean Marie and Scott Bibeau; his grandchildren Cory James Campbell, Samantha Jo (Webster) and Joshua Thompson, Keely Marie Webster, Nicholas Dale Webster, Anna Elizabeth Kuehn, Cora Rose (Bibeau) and Jerric Blair, Zachary Bennett and fiancé Brianna (Weber) Webster, and Ronald Ferdinand Kuehn III; and his cherished great‑grandchildren Paisley Jo Thompson, Leondro Michael Matuseki, and AnnaLynn Marie Matuseki.

He is preceded in death by his father (1950), mother (1983), and brothers Lee, Richard and Loren, 3 babies in Heaven, 1 girl and twin boys, along with many beloved family members and dear friends.

Eugene’s memorial will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church(211 E Division St.) in River Falls, WI on September 3, 2026. Visitation will begin at 11:00am with Mass at 12 noon followed by military honors from American Legion Post #121 of River Falls. A reception will begin at 1pm and his burial will commence at the St. Bridget’s Cemetery at 2:30 in the afternoon.
