Diane Kohls 06/11/2026

Diane Kohls, age 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Regions Hospital, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Diane was a beloved Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend who had a special gift for making everyone around her feel welcome. She never met a stranger—just friends she hadn’t talked into laughing yet. Her smile, quick wit, infectious laugh, and kind heart could brighten any room and usually make it a lot more fun.

Diane lived life to the fullest and believed life was meant to be enjoyed. She loved playing cards and cribbage especially if she was winning, trying her luck gambling, enjoying fish fries, listening to music, spending time at the airplane hanger, and making memories with family and friends. She never passed up a chance to laugh, tell a good story, or convince everyone else to stay a little longer.

For 38 years, Diane dedicated herself to Andersen Windows, where her hard work and determination reflected the way she lived her life. She worked hard for everything she had, but she also knew how to enjoy it. Diane was proud of the life she built and the countless friendships she made along the way.

Her greatest joy was her family. Diane was a loving mother to Cory (Angie) and Stacy (Brian), and a proud grandmother to Gabby, Dane, Kadence, Cooper, and Harper. She also lovingly embraced Paige Jordan and Hunter, and great-grandchildren, Beau and Bridger, as part of her family. Nothing made Diane happier than being surrounded by her children and grandchildren—unless there happened to be cards, a beer and a little friendly competition involved.

She shared a lifelong friendship with Tim Kohls, the father of her children, and treasured the many friendships she built throughout her life, especially with Diz and Vic Dwane and Vicki Madsen, and so many others who were fortunate enough to know her. Diane had a way of turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories and friends into family.

Diane was the daughter of Gerald and Marcella Leverty Belisle and grew up surrounded by a close-knit family of sisters Sue, Jodie, Sherrie, and Amy, and brothers Al, Terry, and Dean-O. Family was always at the center of her life, and there was rarely a gathering that Diane didn’t make a little louder, a little funnier, and a lot more memorable.

While our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing Diane has been welcomed into the arms of her Lord and reunited with her parents and sisters, Susan and Amy and brother in laws, Bill Carlson and Bob Hall. We can only imagine the laughter at that heavenly reunion and Diane, with her trademark smile, asking, “So… are there any good bars up here?”

Until we meet again, Diane, thank you for the laughter, the love, and the memories. Your faith, humor, spirit, and joy for life will remain in our hearts forever.

A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, Somerset, Wisconsin.  Diane’s service will be live streamed using the link below.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 3:00-7:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) New Richmond, Wisconsin and again at the church one hour prior to mass.  Interment will be in St. Anne Cemetery immediately follow mass.  Upon burial, please join us at the Somerset American Legion Post 111 (464 Country Rd VV)  for food and drinks.

Diane was a great friend. We didn’t see each other very often but always kept in touch. My greatest memory is when we spent the summer at our places in Webb Lake. She always had some idea up her sleeve, and you never knew what it would be. RIP in peace dear friend. Your memory will always live in my heart.

Where do I even begin. Diane was the best friend anyone could ask for. She would call me from the beach every winter and let me know how much fun she was having and just make me laugh to tears. Honestly, one of the best people I’ve ever met and been around. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and please know that she will live on forever through all of us. We lost a “great” one.
