Gladys Lewis 03/04/2026

Gladys Naomi Lewis passed away on March 4, 2026 at the age of 94.  Though her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace.

Gladys was born to Ervin and Gertrude (Seavers) Dishneau on June 19, 1931 in Cudahy, Wisconsin.  On May 27, 1950 she married the love of her life Charles Lewis.  They were devoted to one another for 48 years.  While raising her children, she worked for the Glenwood City School District as a cook for 21 years.  Gladys cherished her family above all else.  She also found joy in family history, tending to her flowers, quilting, reading, playing games, and making dessert.  She instilled a love of reading and eating her desserts to all her family (especially her pie).

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Ken) Granstrom and Sue Dorf (special friend Michael Wittmer); grandchildren, Matt (Erin) Granstrom, Ben Granstrom, Laura (Jesse) Russell, Sarah Czora, and Rachell (Ethan) Carlson; great-grandchildren, Mikael Granstrom, Arabella Granstrom, Taylor Gulbranson, Cody Russell, Hannah Russell, Ricky Mosher, Mckenzy Carlson, Lilie Carlson, and Dax Carlson; sister, Beverly (Stan) Oney; daughter-in-law, Deb Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis; son, Steven Lewis; parents, Ervin and Gertrude Dishneau; and siblings, Dick Dishneau and Shirley (Seth) Fuller.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00 am at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond.  Visitation was one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Bloomer City Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Bethany Lutheran Church, 415 Bridge Ave., Star Prairie, WI 54026.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

The Lindstrom family is sorry for your loss. We were still receiving cards for Gladys at her old address and just know that every single one we received, we brought to Deerfield. The most recent one being a card a couple weeks ago from Alaska! To all the family and friends that sent cards to her old address, please know that Gladys received all of them!♥️

Gladys was a highlight of the GCHS Lunch room in the 80’s and 90’s – Her spunk and smile was the best part of our day. Also the extra slice of homemade bread she and Mrs. Booth provided was always warm and yummy. She used to tell us she loved us kids (back then) and we believed what she said. RIP Gladys –

The Rasmussen and Halverson families were lucky to have Chuck & Gladys as neighbors in Glenwood City for many, many years. Gladys was a constant fixture in our lives. She always had a smile, a loving heart, and something to tell you. And, she was never afraid to tell you what she thought. She treated our children and our grandchildren as if they were her own. They were all saddened by her passing.
I can imagine Gladys and Chuck, Toni and Willert, along with Barb getting together for a game of cards!

For my loving sister, Gladys: I will always remember our lives on the farm. You taught me how to cook, drive a car and how to take care of your babies (with a few mistakes I made that you forgave me for). I’m looking forward to seeing you again in the by and by with all our family. God bless you and may you rest in peace. I miss you. Love, your sister, wood tick the brat, Beverly

Loved Gladys(Chuck) and family. She was always there, watching, helping, gardening and baking! All of us kids up on the hill played, ran and Gladys, Jeanette and Evie were there telling us yes or no, and we listened! Gladys tell all our parents hello and we love y’all very much!

I am just learning of her passing. I have so much grief at this time. She lived longer than all of my grandparents and parents. She was very special to me as a child. Grandma Darlene and I would often go to her house and visit her. It was just the 3 of us spending time together. Seeing her at my father’s funeral and hearing her speak of him, I will always remember what she said.
Aunt Gladys, I love you and I will miss you.
