Nancy Langness 01/01/2026

Nancy Irene Langness, age 81 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026 at the Amery Hospital with her husband Paul by her side.  Nancy was born on August 19, 1944, to Aloys and Florence Cordie in Brainerd, Minnesota. Nancy graduated from Stillwater High School.  Nancy was united in marriage to Paul Langness on April 21, 1962. They started their lives together in Stillwater, until building near Bass Lake, eventually living on Spirit Lake, until settling on the river in Amery.  Paul and Nancy were blessed with five children: Robin, Ronda, Ronald, Raymond and Renee. Thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Nancy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant until she retired on June 25, 1998.

She enjoyed living on the water with all it had to offer. Whether it was fishing, planting flowers, watching birds, or just finding peace in her surroundings. Family time meant the most to her whether it was traveling together or just visiting around a table. She was very creative, and enjoyed crocheting, drawing, painting, and making custom designed birthday cards for her loved ones. Nancy loved playing card games. She kept a score log of all her family games allowing every game shared together to become a treasured memory.  These small things she did were a representation of how deeply she cared for everyone.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Aloys and Florence; her grandson, Garrett Hanson; son-in-law, Brian Newman; brothers, John and Jay; sisters, Juan, Rita and Anne.  Nancy is survived by her husband, Paul Langness; children, Robin (Kim) Hanson, Ronda Newman, Ronald Langness, Raymond Langness and Renee (Brad) Hatch; grandchildren, Lonnie Hanson, Juan Hanson, Casey (Taylor) Newman, Alex (Rachel) Newman, Jeff Tuttle, Corey (Shelly) Delong, Mackenzie Langness, Brandon (Emily) Hatch, Brandy Hatch, Bridgette Hatch, Brittney Hatch, Brianna Hatch; her sister, Sandy; along with many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
