LaRayne Jane Olson, age 89 of New Richmond, WI, died, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. Coix County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on March 25, 1936, in New Richmond, a daughter of Joseph and Pauline (Knoche) LaRoue. She graduated from New Richmond High School – Class of 1954. On December 18, 1954, she married Victor Olson at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Though they later divorced, they remained close up until his passing.

A nurturing soul, LaRayne dedicated many years of her life to the healthcare and food service industry, where she took pride in her roles in housekeeping and dietary services. Yet, it was her unwavering love and dedication to her family that defined her. LaRayne fiercely cared for her husband following his tragic accident and was a devoted mother to her children, embodying the spirit of resilience as she balanced her responsibilities as a provider and a loving caretaker.

LaRayne’s heart was as generous as her baking skills; she enjoyed filling her home with the aromas of delicious treats, often flipping through her cherished collection of *Taste of Home* magazines. She was a true craftsman at heart, reflecting her affection for crocheting and creating cozy fleece blankets for her grandchildren. LaRayne found joy in life’s simple pleasures, playing bingo at the health center, reading her books by Danielle Steel, or watching the Packers play.

LaRayne’s vibrant spirit shone brightly in her community as a 4H leader and a trusted friend and listener. She was a confidant to many, always ready to lend an ear and keep secrets safe. Her laughter and kindness forged enduring memories and offered a sense of comfort to those around her.

As we gather to honor and reflect on the life of LaRayne Jane Olson, let us cherish the memories we hold close to our hearts and celebrate the everlasting impact she has left on our lives.

She is preceded in death by, her parents, Joseph and Pauline; her husband, Victor; son, Gary; siblings, Gene Ward, Bernard LaRoue, Patrick LaRoue. She is survived by her children, Debra (Dale) Gerhardt, Mark (Beth) Olson, Robert (Korrine) Olson, Thomas Olson; grandchildren, Jeremy Krueger, Chad (Stacy) Krueger, DeeAnn Gerhardt (Rob), Joshua (Melanie) Olson, Cassie (Andy) Hanson, Paul Olson, Emily (Zachary) Fox, Tyler (Jess) Olson, Shawna (Jon) Schlaver; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Charo) LaRoue.

Funeral service will be held, Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services, 728 S. Knowles Ave., New Richmond, WI. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the New Richmond Cemetery in New Richmond. Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Health Care Center Activity Department which LaRayne loved so much. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
