Marlene Barlow

Marlene Betty (Smith) Barlow of New Richmond passed away on March 7, 2011 at the age of 84. She was born on July 31, 1926 in Pepin, Wisconsin. Marlene was the daughter of Andrew and Hazel (Forsberg) Smith, and grew up in Pepin, Wisconsin. She graduated from Pepin High School in 1943. Marlene then attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and graduated with an Economic Degree in 1947. In 1969, she moved to New Richmond, Wisconsin, where she raised her two children, Martha and Mark. Marlene worked for the St. Croix Health Center for twenty five years, before retiring at the age of 70. She is survived by her daughter, Martha (Ken) Kimberly; son, Mark (Anne Malle) Barlow; grandchildren, Meagan (Corey) Sager, Ian Barlow, Cyril, Oscar, Oona Malle-Barlow; great grandchildren, Ellie and Brady Sager. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6 PM Saturday March 12, 2011 at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home in New Richmond, Wisconsin. She was laid to rest next to her parents in Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin, Wisconsin.
