Urban Germain

Urban Germain Age 89 Somerset, WI. Urban was born on April 24, 1922 in Somerset, Wisconsin to John D. and Berengere (LaVenture) Germain, and passed away peacefully on May 25, 2011 in New Richmond He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Delore, Andrew, Dennis; sisters, Mae, Sr. Ella Marie, Sr. Claire; infant, Donald; grandson, Casey. Urban was married to Pauline B. Cloutier in Somerset, Wisconsin on September 23, 1944. Urban operated a farm in rural New Richmond before settling on their family farm on County Road C near Somerset. He worked for many jobs including Hamms Brewery in St. Paul for thirty years. Urban farmed, raise chickens and beef, plus had a large family garden. His later years were spent in Somerset, and this past year he was a resident of Deerfield Gables Care Center in New Richmond. He was a lifelong member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and 4th degree Knights of Columbus member. Urban loved his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed sports, cribbage, gardening and selling vegetables at the farmers market. He was especially fond of singing French songs. He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline (Cloutier); children, Rosalind (Richard) Kelly, John (Renee), Dan (Jeanne), Joel, Ted (Jeanne), Tim (Julie), Paul (Felicia), Jeffery; sister, Rita Richard; brothers, Leo and Ralph (Diane); grandchildren, Gene, Marcus, Josie, Cole, Tucker, Taylor, Nathan, Amanda, Holly, Preston, Gavin, Dante and Spencer; great grandchildren, Madison, Johney, Nickalas, Kiera and Jack. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday May 28, 2011 at ST. ANNE’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Somerset, WI. Visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
