Lorraine “LaRayne” (Belisle) Ryan, age 91, of New Richmond passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at The Deerfield Gables Care Center. She was born to Henry and Louise (Proulx) Belisle, in Somerset, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school she moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. There she completed training as a dental assistant and began working for Dr. Herbert Gulden, DDS in the St. Paul Lowry Building. LaRayne married Roger A. Ryan on Flag Day in 1952. In New Richmond, she worked for many years as an assistant to Dr. E.M. Drury. After retirement she took pride in her volunteer activities at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Holy Family Hospital and Meals on Wheels. LaRayne was never one to draw attention to her activities, but was always willing to lend a hand or listen to a friend, as she was generous with her time and energy. She was proud of her Catholic faith and attended Mass daily. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends especially, her grandchildren in Colorado. Playing cards and brisk walks were both a favorite of hers. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters, Stella (Martin) Schwan, Angele (Hank) Heil, Eva (Leonard) LaCoursiere; brothers, Omer, Valmore, Clarence, Raymond Belisle; her sisters-in-law, Doris (Frank) Friden, Patricia Belisle, Marcella Belisle; and her brothers-in-law, William (Mary Jane) Ryan, Thomas (Donna) Ryan, and Patrick Ryan She is survived by her children, Roger (Cheryl) Ryan, Centennial, Colorado & Shelly Ryan, Middleton, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Sean, Erin & Colin; her brothers, Gerald Belisle of Somerset & Henry Belisle of St. Paul; her sisters-in-law, Ione Belisle of St. Paul, Virginia Belisle of Somerset, Connie Belisle of Somerset, Char Ryan of Minneapolis and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial 1:00 PM Friday March 27 2015 at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the CHURCH. Interment St. Anne’s Cemetery in Somerset, Wisconsin. Her family wishes to extend an appreciation to all the Deerfield Staff for their continuous support and love over the many years she was a resident there. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to the Immaculate Conception Church or to The Deerfield.
