Shirley M. Huser, age 85, of New Richmond, died peacefully on December 19, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on December 30, 1929, in the town of Troy, St. Croix County, the daughter of John and Katherine (Fable) Ryan. She taught school in New Richmond for many years. Shirley was a gifted volunteer, giving her time and energy to make the most of her retirement years. She spent 15 years volunteering at Holy Family/Westfields Hospital. She was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award of St. Croix County for her dedicated Community Service. She had a very strong Christian faith and many of her volunteer hours were spent at Immaculate Conception Parish in New Richmond. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her sisters, Kathleen Larsen and Patricia Foy; and her son Edward Huser. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Mary (Tony) Halverson of Eagan, MN; her grandchildren, Tate Halverson and Annie (Cody) Crouch; her sisters, Joan Richie of Hudson, Julianne (Ed) Foster of Seal Beach, CA, and Colleen (Tom) Kealy of River Falls. Shirley is also survived by many nieces, nephews and an extended family of friends. A special thank you to The Deerfield and St. Croix County Health Center for taking care of our special angel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday December 28, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home and also one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
