Kay E. (Mentink) Olson
Kay was born in Roberts, Wisconsin to John and Henrietta Mentink. Kay graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin, Wisconsin in 1957. Kay married Ken Olson of Baldwin on September 7, 1957. Together they raised a family in River Falls, Wisconsin.
Kay was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved music, baking, painting and other crafts and spending time with family and friends. Kay’s favorite holiday was Christmas.
Kay passed away peacefully due to complications of dementia on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Kay is preceded in death by her son, Kurt Olson; her parents; one brother; three sisters; two brother in-laws; three nieces; one nephew; and her father and mother in-law.
Kay is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ken; son, Kendall; daughter, Kim (Dave) Veronikas; daughter in-law, Julie Olson; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene (Bob) Fern; five grandchildren, Colin & Britta Olson, Jessika Peterson, Lindsey & McKenna Tyren; and three great grandchildren.
A visitation for Kay will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2-4:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (805 E Division St) in River Falls, Wisconsin. A private burial will take place at a later date in Baldwin Cemetery, in Baldwin, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Moments Hospice
