Harold Rivard, age 84, passed away Friday, July 12, 2025.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00AM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church (141 Church Hill Rd) Somerset, Wisconsin and will be live streamed using the link below. Visitation for Harold will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) New Richmond, Wisconsin and again at the church starting at 10:00AM on Thursday. Interment will be in St Anne’s Cemetery immediately following mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harold and Theresa (Germain) Rivard Family Scholarship PO BOX 121 Somerset WI 54025.
Arrangements are with Bakken-Young funeral & Cremation Services.

Thinking of the whole Rivard clan, it won’t be the same not seeing him at sporting events!!! Rest in peace!

Harold touched many lives young and old in all of years in Somerset. He leaves behind an amazing legacy. Prayers and love sent to his family during this time.
Harold was and will always be Coach Rivard to me. As a coach he always encouraged and empathized hard work saying the rest will take care of itself. He was/is one of the three key mentors of my life; I owe him so much. Coach was a great teacher, coach, and friend. I will keep him and his wonderful family in my prayers forever.
I agree Wade. He was an amazing teacher of the classes he taught but more importantly he taught so much about how to believe in yourself and reach for the stars. He will be missed.
The education community has lost a champion. Harold was a faithful member of our union organization my sympathies to o his family and friends

His newsy, photo-copied handwritten Christmas newsletter filled w/how proud he was of his family, his travels w/Teresa and Roland and Somerset sports news. He was a gem and I thank God for having known him.

So many great memories of Mr Rivard, Coach Rivard, husband and father to some great boys! He influenced and has impacted many in the Somerset community!. Lots of good laughs, smiles forever…
He was a good teacher and just an all-around wonderful human being. I will miss him.
