Gerald “Jerry” Sigurd Quaderer of Somerset, WI, aged 79, passed away at home on June 27, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vicki; his two sons, Gary and Greg (friend Sara Schulte); his granddaughter, Nikki (fiancé Vinay Thomas); his sisters, Pattie Jacobs of Houlton, WI, and Mary Joe Gaulke (husband Jerry) of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, William “Buck” and Jim, and his sisters, Pearl Koehler, Fern Koehler, Joanne “Sissy” Allen, Yvonne Haas, and Josephine “Linda” Haas.
Born to George and Palma (Olson) Quaderer on March 31, 1945, in Menomonie, WI, Jerry was known for causing mischief and enjoying fishing. He went on to serve two naval tours in Vietnam from 1965 to 1969. After his service, Jerry frequented Seabee reunions and was a regular visitor at the American Legion Post 111, honoring his Navy service.
Jerry worked at Rivard Stone Company for 20 years and retired in 2010 after over 25 years with Saint Croix County Maintenance. In retirement, Jerry was the first to volunteer to help his sons with their various projects. Many will enjoy the bean bag boards he built for years to come.
As anyone driving down Spring Street in Somerset can tell you, Jerry was a diehard Packers fan. He loved watching sports, crafting things in his garage, and being the true Wisconsinite he was, he enjoyed a good polka. If you needed a clue for a crossword puzzle, Jerry was your guy!
A celebration of Jerry’s life was held at the Somerset American Legion Post 111 on Saturday, August 10, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
