Alexis Steinberger 05/22/2024

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Alexis Johnson Steinberger, beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of our community, on May 22, 2024, at the age of 34. Alexis’ unexpected departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of her family and friends.

Alexis was the treasured wife of Matthew Dalton Steinberger. She met Matthew at his high school graduation, a moment that marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Married for nearly a decade, their bond was unwavering, always rooting for each other. Together, they built a wonderful life filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Alexis’ greatest joy was her family. She was a doting mother of two beautiful little girls, Adelynn Grace (8) and Annaleise Marie (3) with Matthew. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to being a a supporting presence in the lives of her daughters, creating a warm and loving home for them and nurturing them to be strong, fierce and independent. Her love for her family was boundless. The memories and stories of the remarkable woman Alexis was will be a guiding light for them in the years to come.

Alexis worked at the Clear Lake Elementary School. Her compassion and dedication to educating the youngest members of our community will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her light shone brightly, and though it was extinguished far too soon, the impact she made on her family, students, and community will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her mother, Honey Hanestad (Fernando), her brothers, Zach and Joe Hanestad, and many family members on both her and Matthew’s sides. She was recently preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Arley Johnson (Nana).

A Celebration of Alexis’ Life was held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00AM at First Lutheran Church (218 County Road K, New Richmond, WI 54017). A Visitation was on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 3:00-7:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave New Richmond, WI 54017) and Saturday at 10:00AM at the church. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Alexis was a bright ray of sunshine whenever she came over to visit our daughter Kristine during their long friendship. Later, she also brought her beautiful daughters. Heaven has gained a special angel. My very deepest sympathies.
