Bernice Madsen 08/16/2013

Bernice C. Madsen age 85 of New Richmond, formerly of River Falls, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the St. Croix Health Center.  She was born the daughter of Oswald and Pearl (Jensen) Peterson on September 3, 1927.  Bernice grew up in Martell and graduated from River Falls High School with the class of 1945.  On June 30, 1946, she married Donald F. Madsen.  In 1945, Bernice began her career at UW-River Falls, retiring in 1984.  She will be missed by her loving husband of 67 years, Donald; her son, Duane (Vicky) Madsen; her granddaughter, Stacia (Jayson) Westbrook; her great-grandchildren, Courtney and Blake Westbrook; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Fraser. A Memorial Service was held Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 5 pm with visitation from 3 – 5 pm at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond.  Interment will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11 am at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
