Wendy Peak 10/05/2017

Wendy Ann Peak, age 57 of Pepin, WI, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born the daughter of Lyle and Doris (Genda) Lehner on November 10, 1959 in St. Paul, MN.  She grew up in Hugo, MN and Douglas, WY, graduating from Douglas County High School with the class of 1978.  She worked as a CNA.  Wendy enjoyed racing, and owned and drove her own racecar.  She loved animals, her garden, and being outdoors.  Wendy was generous and kind, always willing to help a neighbor.  She chose to lead a simple life, and was always happy.  She is preceded in death by her father, Lyle Lehner; and nephew, Jeramia Lehner.  Wendy is survived by her son, Shawn Leeling; grandchildren, Logan, Damon, and Connor Leeling; mother, Doris Lehner; siblings, Guy (Tammy) Lehner, Gary (Tammy) Lehner, Sandy Weeda, Becky Borgwardt, and Penny (Denny) Fuller; friend, Chris; many nieces and nephews; and beloved horse, Maddie and dog, Ellie.  A Memorial Service was held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 3 pm at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel 112 W 3rd Street New Richmond.  Memorial Visitation was also Monday from 2-3 pm at the funeral home.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral and Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
