Sherman Belisle 02/01/2015

Sherman J. Belisle, age 77, of Somerset, WI passed peacefully surrounded by his family on the farm that he called home for 65 years.  He was born the son of Dick and Adele (Montpetit) Belisle on December 31, 1937 in the town of St. Joseph, St. Croix County, WI.  Sherman worked for West Publishing in St. Paul and Eagan for 38 years.  He loved ice fishing, gardening, and playing cards.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.  He was an ardent high school football fan – very excited for the Somerset Spartans, very proud of his grandsons’ Athens, WI Blue Jays, as well as a Green Bay Packer fan.  Sherman is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Adele Belisle; brothers, Wallace (Carol) Belisle and Wilbur Belisle; and sister, Alice (Bob) Swearingen.  He is survived by his wife, Donna (Knutson) Belisle; sons, Brad (Cathy Baker) Belisle, Scott (Allison Heller) Belisle, Jim (Tammy Marg) Belisle; daughter, Juli Lepore;  grandchildren, Michael Kvistero, Laura Belisle, Diane Olson, Sarah (Zach Flake) Belisle, Dalton (Jocelyn Welch) Kvistero, Jordan Belisle, Connor Belisle, Nathan Belisle, Jared Belisle; great-grandchildren, Layla Belisle, Mylah Olson, Bennett Kvistero; sister, Virgie (Lowell) Rivard; brother, Glen (Muriel); sister-in-law, Audrey Belisle; and many nieces and nephews.  Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11 am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Somerset, WI.  Visitation was also Thursday from 9-11 am at the church.  Interment was in St. Anne’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Sherman’s grandchildren.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
