Robin Martell 10/22/2016

Robin Martell websiteRobin Lynn Martell, age 61 of River Falls, WI, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls from non-alcoholic cirrhosis.  Born on February 9, 1955 to William and Sherrie Roy, Robin was a very spirited individual who watched over her three younger siblings, caring for them when they got injured; which she carried on throughout her life showing nothing but admiration and love towards everyone, especially her children.  She grew up with her older brothers Shane and Scott and her younger siblings, Brett, Kim and Tracy.  Lighthouses always left Robin feeling at peace.  Her house for years was surrounded with lighthouse décor.  Before she became ill she found herself knitting in her spare time.  Reading was always an interest of Robin’s, a way for her to escape from what was and find herself in what could be.  Robin worked as Special Education Aid in the Somerset, WI School District.  She was always an active volunteer and enjoyed being involved in her community.  Robin is preceded in death by her parents, Sharon, William and Roger; and brothers, Shane and Brett.  She is survived by her children, Ambrose, Rory, and Annastasia; brothers, Scott and Tracy; sister, Kim; many step-siblings, other relatives and friends.   A Celebration of Robin’s life was held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 6 pm with visitation from 4-6 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI.  Per Robin’s request we ask everyone to wear colors or wear your favorite football jersey.  We are grateful for the pain of losing you because it means what we had was worth missing.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.

Ambrose, Rory, Annastasia, hearing of your sweet mother’s passing breaks my heart. She was such a wonderful lady, and as you well know, a great mom. I remember well all the times she would volunteer at SMS and be there for you all no matter what. I also have fond memories of visiting a very lovely Mrs. Claus. She was just the best. I am so sorry for your loss and will be praying for peace in your hearts and you grieve and pass the next days, weeks, months, and years without her.

    Dear Martell Family,
So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. Her giving of herself in many volunteer ways to her community of Somerset will not be forgotten. She will be missed especially at Christmas time. Hugs to you all.

    Dear Martell Family,
I remember Robin from when I was a substitute teacher in Somerset. She was always so kind. May her light shine like the lighthouses she loved.
