Marvin Mackie 03/25/2016

Marvin Mackie age 98 of New Richmond died Friday, March 25, 2016 at The Deerfield Gables Care Center in New Richmond, WI.  Marvin was born February 8, 1918 in Lincoln, NB to Charles and Bernice (Smith) Mackie.  He was the oldest of 8 children.  In 1941, Marvin married Marion Buss in California.  He served in the Pacific during WWII.  Marvin had a career as a tool and die maker.  Marvin and Marion celebrated 68 years of marriage before her death in 2009.  Marvin is survived by his son, James (Barbara) Mackie; daughter, Patricia (James) Schafter; granddaughters, Andrea (Donald) Lepper, Mary (Keith) Manders; and great-granddaughter, Quinn Lepper.  A special thank you to the entire staff at the Deerfield for providing a wonderful home to Marvin for nearly 17 years.  A Funeral Service was held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11 am at the Deerfield Chapel.  Visitation was also Thursday from 10-11 am.  Interment was in Bethesda Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the VFW, Deerfield, First Lutheran Church, or Bethesda Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
