Marilyn Fisher 10/05/2011

Marilyn D. Fisher age 75 of rural Maiden Rock passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.  She was born the daughter of Gerhardt and Nora (Hurtgen) Thompson on July 11, 1936 in Gilman Township, WI.  On August 22, 1959, she married Lloyd Fisher at the Gilman Lutheran Church in Spring Valley.  After high school she worked a a creamery and Smeads in River Falls.  Marilyn was a farm wife and a cook at the Plum City Grade School for 17 years.  She retired in 2006.  She is preceded in death by her parents; and an infant twin sister, Rosemary Thompson.  Marilyn is survived by her husband, Lloyd; children, Melvin (Janice) Fisher, Kevin (Angie) Fisher, Linda (Lynn) Hanson; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ron (Sue) Thompson, Harold (Mary) Thompson, Ellen (Steve) Meyer, Don (Becky) Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  A memorial service was held Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Maiden Rock.  Visitation was also Sunday from 1:00-3:00 pm before the service.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
