Julie McMahon 07/05/2016

Julie McMahon was born Julina Basilio on June 8th, 1959 to Bienvenido and Azucena Basilio in San Antonio, Zambales in the Philippines.  The oldest of four boys and four girls, Julie left the Philippines at the age of 17 to make a better life for herself in the United States.  Through hard work and perseverance, she changed the future for her family as she was able to bring them to the United States where they too were able to live better lives.  Julie lived a beautiful life full of love and joy and over the course of her lifetime touched the lives of every person she met with her infectious laughter, outgoing personality and her overwhelming warmth.  In November 2015, Julie was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  Over the course of the next several months she endured countless treatments and procedures in an effort to fight it, and did so with a smile on her face, even after doctors told her there wasn’t anything else they could do.  A devout Catholic her entire life, Julie answered our Father’s call to come home to Heaven on July 5, 2016 surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her loving husband Sean and her four children, Christopher, Mary, Robert and Larry.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, July 8 at 2 pm at St. Bridget Church 211 E Division Street River Falls, WI.  Memorial Visitation was also on Friday from 12 – 2 pm at the church.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
