Judy Johnson 12/09/2015

Judy Johnson age 76 of New Richmond died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Our House Assisted Living in New Richmond.  She was born the daughter of Harold and Barbara (Gordon) Olson on July 18, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN.  She married John T. Johnson on August 24, 1957 in Iowa.  She moved to the Johnson family farm and there she helped John farm, raised the children and was the care giver for her mother-in-law.  Judy was a member of the Homemakers Club and West Immanuel Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed ceramics.  She created and painted many vases and porcelain dolls.  Judy was a skilled seamstress and made many fancy prom and wedding dresses for her family. Later in life, she enjoyed camping and rescuing and caring for kittens and cats.  She is preceded in death by her husband, John, Sr., son, Donald; parents, Harold and Barbara; and brother, Doug.  Judy is survived by her children, Larry (Dawn), Pam (Bob) Viau, Steven (Jenny), John, Jr. “Jack” (Mara); grandchildren, Jeremy, Jamie and Jennifer Johnson, Barb (Tim) Lorinser, Bob Viau, Jr., Dylan, Taylor, Brennan, Alice, Ronan and Finley Johnson; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Sophie and Rhett Lorinser; brothers, Jack (Pat) Olson, Chuck (Cheryl) Olson, Rusty (Robin) Olson; sister, Merrilee (Jim) Larson; sister-in-law, Jan Olson; other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.  A memorial service was held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm at West Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Osceola.  Visitation was also Wednesday from 12-1 pm at the church.  Private interment will be at a later date.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
