Jim McKibben 05/22/2015

Jim McKibben age 79 of New Richmond passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 22, 2015 from lung cancer.  He was born the son of Laurence and Gertie (Harms) McKibben in Brookings, South Dakota.  He attended school and was raised in White, SD.  On June 30, 1957, he married Beverly Hanson in Volga, SD.  Jim and Beverly moved to St. Paul, MN and eventually to New Richmond, WI to raise their family.  He retired after 33 years in National Guard and retired from Doboy in New Richmond.  Jim served on the New Richmond Park Board and served 26 years with the New Richmond Fire Department.  He was an active member of the American Legion Post #80 in New Richmond.  He will be missed by his wife, Beverly; children, Ranae (Robert) Davis, Randy (Tammy) McKibben, Rachelle (Tim) Haberman; grandchildren, Nicole (Ben) Brown, Ashley Davis, Hailey Davis, Alisha (Brian) Olson, Paige McKibben, Andrew Haberman; great grandchildren, Connor Brown, Bella Brown, Elijah Olson and Ryker Olson; siblings, Ruth Hof, Daniel (Gayla) McKibben, and Mary (Michael) Witter.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Gertie; and brother, David.  A funeral service was held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Lutheran Church (218 County Road K) in New Richmond.  Visitation was also Saturday from 12:00-2:00 pm at the church.  Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery with military honors performed by the American Legion Post #80 of New Richmond.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
