Gary Tanner Bartlett 07/23/2016

G. Tanner BartlettGary Tanner Bartlett age 20 of River Falls died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at his home.  He was born the son to Gregory and Debra on July 8, 1996. Tanner grew up in Tracy CA until 2012 when he moved to Wisconsin at the age of 15. In Wisconsin his circle of friends grew as he matured into an adult. Tanner was regarded among the community as a warm, compassionate young man whom if you knew; you liked. He planned on enlisting to serve in the United States Coast Guard where he could extend his compassion to those truly in need. Unfortunately, deep depression crept into his life eventually extinguishing the flame of a promising young man. Depression took him from us, but he will always remain in our hearts, and our fond memories. Tanner is survived by both of his parents, Debra Bittner and Gregory Bartlett. Older brother Jenson Bartlett (Clarissa), older sister Andriana Bartlett, and grandparents Bobby and Kenneth Bittner and Rosetta Herricks. Many aunts, cousins and friends. Tanner was preceded in death by his Uncles, Gary Bittner, and Brian Bartlett, and Grandfather Joesph Herricks. A funeral service was held Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the First Baptist Church (814 S Wasson Lane) in River Falls.  Visitation was also Wednesday from 2-4 pm at the church.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.

Tanner, sweet Tanner, how I wish we could be there to say goodbye. I was blessed to watch you grow from that fun little boy into a great young man. I will never forget the many sleepovers you had with Austin, the playing hide and seek on our court at night, playing soda pong with Austin, breaking my ceiling fan while I was at work :), and just hearing you say hi Stephanie as you walked into the house. I wish I could have said that I love you, that you are valued by so many, that I’m thankful for the friendship you have with Austin, that you were truly my first other son. Tanner, may you rest in peace. We love you and will miss you always
    Love, Stephanie

We will all miss you Tanner. I remember the diaper wearing baby that first moved into our court and got to watch you grow into the curious toddler, to the mischievous adolescent and I’m sorry I will not get to watch you grow into the fine upstanding adult I know you were becoming. God received an angel and I know you will watch over your family. ?
