Dorothy Peterson had a unique personality combination. One side was wonderful sweet and kind – the other, feisty tough and no nonsense.
Her son Mike and I were great friends and on the high school wrestling team. It was a rare home match when Dorothy and Milt weren’t in the stands. We all knew when she was there – you could hear Dorothy above everybody else in the gym.
Milt and Dorothy could not have been more opposite – he was soft spoken and quiet and Dorothy was not. But, that combination seemed to work perfectly for them. I have never met a married couple that were more loving. At home in the evening they usually sat right next to each other reading the paper or watching TV – close both emotionally and physically.
Dorothy Peterson – a loving wife, mother and grandmother, sweet and charming, and ready to take on the world if you wronged her family. May you rest in peace.

Dorothy Peterson was a wonderful lady. Her personality ran the spectrum from sweet, charming and compassionate to feisty, opinionated and spirited. And that’s what we loved about her.
She and Milt could not have been more opposite – but they were perfect for each other. She was a wonderful, supportive mother to Bump, Ronnie and Mike. Anybody that wronged Milt or her boys saw that feisty side right now.
May you rest in peace, Dorothy – you have certainly earned it.

I enjoyed getting to know Dorothy from my delivering for FF Pharmacy over the years She always asked about my in-laws and family. She was a nice lady who kept busy when she was well. May you find comfort that she now rests in Peace in God’s hands.
Because of her relative Dwain Otte in Randolph she knew the Volkert Family very well.

Dorothy (whole Peterson family) has always had a special spot in my heart growing up. I have some of the best memories and scars to prove it. Dorothy gave me my first and only perm (-: My heart is with you all. Hold onto your wonderful memories for they last forever and no one can take them away.

We send our best wishes to the family. We remember Dorothy from our younger years when we were often part of Ron and Cathy’s family events. We appreciated her kindness to us and her willingness to offer a young couple some great advice. She was certainly proud of her sons (with good reason) and cherished her family as “queen of the household.” Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We love you all. Your friends from Missouri, Paulette and Daryl

Mom and Dad (who died in 2007) had been married for more than 65 years and were an example of loving care and servanthood. Cathy and I were blessed beyond measure and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family! God Bless and Christ’s love to all. Ron Peterson
