Donald Krueger 04/02/2016

Donald William Krueger died at Willow Ridge Care Center on Saturday, April 2 in Amery, Wisconsin at the age of 90.  Donald is survived by his children, Bob (Eva) Krueger of Deer Park, WI; Jim Krueger of Deer Park, WI; Nancy Gleason of New Richmond, WI; Tom (Wendi) Krueger of Deer Park, WI; Sue (Dan) Lackner of White Bear Township, MN; Lori (Chuck) Hansen of Coon Rapids, MN; Duke (Janet) Krueger of Deer Park, WI; and Kevin (Janel) Krueger of Deer Park, WI; and 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Krueger, his parents, Arthur and Gertrude Krueger, his brothers, Richard Krueger and Raymond Krueger, his sister, Alice Koeppen and his grandson, Elijah Krueger.  Don was born on August 25, 1925 in Deer Park, Wisconsin to Arthur and Gertrude Krueger.  He married Bernice Johnson in 1949 in Redwood, MN. Bernice and Don moved to Deer Park where they farmed and raised 8 children. Don was employed as a maintenance worker for the New Richmond School District in New Richmond, Wisconsin. He also butchered cows for local farmers. Throughout his life, Don enjoyed farming, dancing, card playing, fishing and hunting. After retirement, he became an excellent woodworker and enjoyed traveling with Bernice.  A Funeral Service was held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond, WI. Visitation was Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel, 112 W 3rd St, New Richmond, WI and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
