Delores Godfrey 05/23/2015

Delores “Dodi” Godfrey age 83 of Somerset died peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2015 after a struggle with dementia at Comforts of Home in Hudson.  She was born June 7, 1931 in Stillwater, MN.  Delores graduated from Stillwater High School and was a long-time employee at Universal Cooperative in Bloomington, MN.  She enjoyed chaperoning trips with the St. Paul Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.  Delores was an active member at Christ Lutheran Church in Somerset and will be remembered by her family as a loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-granchild.  She is survived by her children, Richard (Jan) Godfrey, Deborah (Hardy) Skjefte, Wanita (Curtis) Stevens, Lynn (David )Murphy; grandchildren, Daryl Chute, Angela Shew, Brian Shew, Jennifer Mullenix, James Chute, Jr., Kenneth (Justina) Mullenix, Marcus Chute, Tina Shew, Kevin (Nicole)  Mullenix, Alex (Keith) Barton; 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; sibling, Beverly Halberg; and dear friend, James Chute, Sr.  Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Denise Yeager; sons, Donald and David Godfrey; brothers, Francise and Gerald Yeager; brother-in-law, Norman Halberg; and nephew, Ronald Halberg.  A memorial service was held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Christ Lutheran Church (510 Germain St.) in Somerset.  Visitation was also Friday from 10:00-12:00 at the church.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.
